Duct Sizing: Practical Practices to Challenge the Duct Sizing Myths

February 27, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Johnstone Muskegon

All Fittings are not created equal: Understanding how air moves around corners and it’s relationship to the overall performance of the distribution system.

Myths Challenged
•What is Static Pressure and how does it relate to the size and air flow of the air distribution system?
•Measuring air flow to calculate accurate CFM.
•Equivalent Footage:  Why using the wrong fittings will slow the air.  How to determine correct fittings for smooth airflow.
•Understanding and using an Air Duct Calculator.
•Flexible Ductwork: Good? Bad?  How does compression come into play?
•Ovalizing Sheet Metal Ductwork.  Will it handle the same airflow as round?
•Understanding Total External Static Pressure test (TESP).
•The effects of insulating or sealing your ducts.
•The effectiveness of an existing duct system.
•Solving problems in existing ducts.
