EPA regulations (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F) under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act require that technicians who install, maintain, service, repair, or dispose of equipment that could release ozone depleting refrigerants into the atmosphere must be certified.
608 Test Includes:
•Core: Refrigeration Basics
Also covers laws & dates – everyone must pass core
•Type I Certification: Small Appliances
Includes refrigerators, freezers, room a/c, & vending
•Type II Certification: High Pressure Applications
•Type III Certification: Low Pressure Applications
•Universal Technician:
Includes certification on Type I, Type II & Type III levels
If you have taken the class & test before and need to come back for a retake on any section, bring the card or letter that states the results from your first test in order to retest. Class & test retake 8:30am-Noon $99. Test retake only 10am-Noon $79.
Half Day Class Includes:
Study manual, class instruction, testing & refreshments.
Recommend sign-up at least two weeks in advance so you have time to study. Manual sent direct to you when you rsvp (Spanish version available upon request), bring manual to class with you, along with picture ID and non-programmable calculator. 8AM registration & refreshments. ($139)
